Daanish Khan was a lifelong Emerson resident and a 2005 graduate of the high school. He went on to Rutgers University, where he studied biology and history and later worked toward a career in medicine. He was beloved for his sense of humor, his kind spirit, and his devotion to family and friends. Every summer, Daanish spearheaded a weekly pickup soccer game attended by dozens of his friends and former classmates.
Before he passed away, Daanish was part of an initiative to organize an alumni game between Emerson graduates and the current boys soccer team. While he was not able to see the project realized, today the game is played in his memory and honor. The alumni game raises money for a scholarship that will help current Emerson students achieve the goals Daanish himself strived toward.
